Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) is an experiential approach that promotes the development of life skills for educational, professional, and personal goals through ground based activities with horses. At Circle “C”, we use EAL in order to offer a unique and meaningful learning experience in a calm, peaceful setting. Our facilitators assess the needs and goals of participants to create a safe space for learning, discovery, and growth.

Horse Powered Reading and Math

®

Horse Powered Reading® is a research based curriculum that integrates social-emotional learning with academics, allowing students to see and experience reading with their entire mind, body, and emotions.

Students interact with the horses from the ground while using various toys and props to learn and strengthen the five critical reading skills: phonemic awareness, decoding, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.

Interacting with horses fosters the development of self-motivation, confidence, and independent problem solving. Including horses in a learning setting transforms the lesson into a whole body experience, thus providing a powerful way to achieve any educational or personal goal.

Storytime with Horses

Join us for these interactive EAL sessions that combine reading, talking, writing, and playing with horses to promote early literacy. Each Storytime coordinates a craft and a horse game around the theme of the selected story.  These are perfect for youth ages 3 - 8 years old. Our next Storytime with Horses will be posted soon!

We can always host a special story time with horses for Preschool Field Trips too!

Preschool Skills Round Up

These engaging and interactive sessions are designed for children aged 3-5 to help them develop essential skills for a successful transition into kindergarten. Each session emphasizes early learning fundamentals such as letter and number recognition, basic counting, shapes, colors, and fun facts about horses! Activities focus on fine and gross motor skills through crafts, sensory play, and movement exercises with the horses. Social and emotional skills are nurtured through games and exercises with the horses, storytime, sharing activities, fostering cooperation, listening, and self-expression.

It's the perfect opportunity for little learners to build confidence and skills while making friends and spending some time with our horses!
